‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Ex-Emma Drake) Speaks Out About Emma Recast And Shares Goodbye Message With Fans
‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Brooklyn Rae Silzer (ex-Emma Drake) recently spoke about Emma’s recast and shared a goodbye message.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Braedyn Bruner Is The New Emma Drake
On December 23, Emma arrived in Port Charles with a new face. The actress playing Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) and Patrick Drake‘s (Jason Thompson) daughter is Braedyn Bruner.
Silzer, who had played the role on and off since 2011, took to social media to respond to the soap’s decision to recast the character and thanked her fans and family at GH.
The message began,
“A little note to my General Hospital family and fans who have loved me over the years (heart emoji) B xoxo.”
“To my amazing General Hospital family who have supported me and watched me grow up over the years as Emma, I am forever grateful,”
She shared.
“Although sad my time as Emma has come to an end, I will cherish all of my memories and friendships made. I am so lucky to have been cast as Emma 13 years ago and to have the opportunity to grow her character over the years,”
She wrote.
Silzer was also gracious to Bruner and respectfully passed the baton, exclaiming,
“I am so excited to see how Braedyn takes care of Emma and brings new layers to her character.”
She concluded,
“I am forever grateful for General Hospital, and Emma will always hold a special place in my heart (heart emoji).”
Brooklyn came onto the canvas in 2011 at the tender age of five. Immediately, fans fell in love with the adorable little actress and adored her as the child of the legacy character Robin Scorpio.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Silzer’s Last Stint As Emma Was In 2023
Silzer left GH in 2018. She returned several times over the years for brief stints. In 2016, Brooklyn earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Juvenile Actress in a Drama Series.
Silzer’s last stint as Emma was in 2023. She told Soap Opera Digest at the time how much fun she had playing the older incarnation of Emma, saying,
“I had really fun scenes, and they brought out a different side of Emma. I’m kind of more mature, and they made me (Emma) really smart, actually,”
Brooklyn mused.
“It was cool to play a smarter character and to find out she’s working in a lab since that’s something I obviously want to do in real life. It was just cool to see how they’re developing Emma’s character. She’s not that different, but she has evolved from when she was little,”
She explained.
On December 23, Bruner’s version of Emma was introduced, stealing a man’s wallet. She made Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanna Mazza) hold onto it and told him the man she pilfered from was stealing and that he deserved it. She promptly turned the wallet over to the police.
Emma will live with her grandmom, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), and will attend PCU with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), and Gio.
The soap appears to be taking the character in a different direction. We will miss Silzer’s Emma Drake, and we applaud her for her work on GH and for keeping a grateful heart.
